A 5 year old boy was killed when he was hit by a truck on Route 13 in Bristol Township shortly before 5 p.m.  Sunday afternoon. Reports indicate that the 5 year old boy and his 7 year old brother were crossing Route 13 while their mother was in a nearby deli.Â
The boy ended up on the median of the road. Two women who work at an assisted living facility administered CPR until emergency workers arrived. They got a pulse on the child after about 8 minutes. However, the boy later died from his injuries at Aria Health’s Torresdale campus.
Since 1999, more than 50 pedestrians have been hit on this stretch of road and more than a dozen pedestrians have died. While PennDOT has approved plans to make this road safer, construction is not expected to start for another two years. Unfortunately, the risk continues for more Bucks County pedestrian accidents on this stretch of Route 13 and more pedestrians may die, like the beloved 5 year old child who died last weekend.
