In 2011, 44 people lost their lives in Berks County accidents. That is five more people than died in 2010 Berks County crashes.
Of the 44 fatalities that occurred on Berks County roads last year:
- At least 32 people were under the age of 60.
- The majority of those killed had parents who survived them.
- Many of those killed had spouses and children who survived them.
- 12 of the accidents involved motorcycles.
- At least 5 of the accidents involved trucks.
