The Truth About Live Wires

On Tuesday afternoon, a Comcast worker was working on a ladder in the 2100 block of Sproul Road in Marple Township when the worker came into contact with a live wire and was electrocuted.    Nearby residents saw the accident and called the police around mid afternoon.

No information about the employee has yet been released.  Comcast believes that this is the first electrocution in their history.

PECO has sent investigators to the scene.  Working near live wires is a dangerous occupation.  It is important for the safety of Comcast, PECO and other utility workers that a thorough investigation into this Delaware County workplace fatality take place so that no other lives are lost because of live wires.
